Jean,
You are a lucky indvidual, I can look up to such a fleet. I also agree whole heartedly that the 3.6T is selling between $65k to $75K. But I am trying to offer an opinion to the original question. Hedgs00 I assume would asking us our opinion on comperably priced cars. This means 993 NA ($35k to $45K) and 3.3T ($35K to $45K) according to what I saw, The 3.6T should really not even be in the conversation as it is out of price realm. Do you agree with me there. Once we establish what we are comapring then we can continue the conversation no need to argue (friendly arguing) over the wrong cars.

Jean,
I just noticed 705hp Holy s**t. You sure need the horsepower my lord. I wish I could get a ride in that thing. WOW!
Hey buddy also, keep this our secret, but I still like the 993 better. I hope that does not ruin my chances at getting a ride in the rocket if it finds itself Stateside or I find myself in Saudi.

You other Chicago owners, when and how did you get yours?

Owned one 964 and on my second 993. The 964 is definitely more raw, stock to stock. However, I believe my 993TT is a little raw, not like Jean's but raw enough for me!

I agree with Emmanuel and in fact I know the guys at MPC and they are nice guys, I have bought three cars from there always happy with the quality. They stay away from junk and are true Porsche enthusiasts. The owner Tom is a Chicago PCA member and Windy City BMW Member and DE instructor. Call them they will help locate something for you, or listen to Mark always a wealth of knowledge.
Chris - Of course you love your 964 it is an awesome car. The most important thing is that you are having fun. You are absolutely right it is the $40k question, but I like NA cars better anyway so I am a little biased, bottom line drive them both and choose what works for you thus why my money would go to a 964 RS America instead of a Turbo, but what do I know. Drive on brothers.

I have owned several 911's and driven many more. To me the original 930's or RS's is what I consider raw. Although my 79 SC with the Max Moritz pistons, Carrera crank pumping out 270 HP and about 300 Pd/ft of torque with no A/C, sunroof, power steering or power windows weighing in at 2390 pounds and 4" pipes was a truly raw car. (Still wish I had that car) Coming from such a raw car I needed something more civilized as I got older

To set the record straight, yes you aren't going to touch a nice 3.6T for a comparable price to a NA 993. I have seen dismantled 3.6T's with salvage titles sell for $30K. Although the 91-92 964 Turbos are going for about the same price as a nice NA 993. The advantage to the turbos is that for not much $$ you can increase RWHP to equal stock FWHP and get one hell of a performance machine. When i look at the 993 I love the lines and changes of the car. Side by side the 993 is a more modern looking car with cleaner lines and still retains so much of the 911 presence that has been eliminated from the newer cars.
Either car is great both are very different. As everyone said the best thing to do is drive both and decide for yourself.
Yes, Jean's car is one of the baddest monsters around. It takes the 993 to the ultimate level. That car just exudes pure testosterone and must be quite the machine for him to have sold his 3.6T.

Replace the stock exhaust with headers and muffler, 1 bar spring, HF turbo and proper dyno tunning. If the engine is in good shape I have seen cars pumping out 315 to 320 safe and reliable RWHP. FWHP is subjective everyone uses their own drivetrain loss numbers between 15 and 18%. so you are looking at about 380 FWHP give or take out of a 3.3l 91-92 964 turbo.

Sorry to get so off topic but here is a pic of the old beast.
