To me personally, this is VERY important factor in a (track) car.

gotta' agree w/ the beauty factor once again too. the 993 is classic in both styling & raw feel. but the gt3 is high on the list (esp. when you consider performance) imho it is the most raw of the type 996's........ the grass is always greener..........
& need i say? fongster is one lucky dog

& noel, i did. (to carry work paraphernalia)
next p-car will be a tt or a gt3 though... btw: didn't fred mention a pre-owned gt3 w/ the 100k mi. warranty. hmmmm

Following this since the thread started. A large percentage of people whom would consider buying IMO if you combine the numbers. Does it say something about the spirit of the 993 owner. As stated above the "raw feel" must have something to do with it.

"A large percentage of people...would consider buying"
i don't think the numbers from this poll justify that statement. over half said they weren't interested and the next ~20% said they were waiting for the price to fall to < $55k (which is about the time pigs are going to fly, right?), but then again i am an "envious, bitter, irascible troll," so what would i know :-)

I just find it interesting that 47% would even consider it. I agree $55k (18.67%) prob won't happen. Even that 28% would from $55-85K is rather surprising. Just a thought.........

Agree with FF here. A 3,000lb "Rennsport" model? Ridiculous! Kinda like hooking up with a 300 lb supermodel, IMO.

Actually pigs will fly in a few years when it comes to pricing especially if Porsche continues to bring future versions of the GT3 here. Its simple math. Production figures. These cars ain't like the Andial Cups 80 pcs or so imported, in other words rarity will not be much of an issue. Certain SuperCup GT3's are already selling in the 70's which was unheard off for such a special car. Why? Simply they were made in large numbers so the availability drives the prices down. I was also one of the 20% who voted <55K . The poll does not specify time and eventually in a few years when I will want to replace my race car, I would for sure get a GT3 providing the price is below 55K.
This poll, the way it is written does not specify time limits or puts a condition on trading a 993 for a GT3 to answer. In that light because I really like the freedom that 2 Porsche cars in my garage give me ( one for weekend driving and one for the race track) , no I would not consider trading my cabrio or my race car for a GT3 at this present moment. First the cabrio for me its classic and I dont need superpower for the street. It has plenty of grunt, it handles beautifully, nothing beats the aircooled smells and sound with the top down and nothing beats the looks of a 993. Period. I would only consider a GT3 for the track. Yes its an awesome car, a great tool for the track. Heck I'm railroaded constantly by them So in that light I simply cannot afford a 100K car for the track only, so I will wait till pigs fly and get one when it makes financial sense for me...

Gt3 is a really nice car - but I would never pick it over my TT. The 997TT that will be a car to lust for. Need to start buying more lottery tickets!

Damn! That's one of the best women/Porsche comparisons I've heard ever!

I though my earlier analogy of "996 is Jennifer Anniston and 993 is Angelina Jolie..." was good but I think Kev here might've done even better!
