Bounced off the Guardrail
Well, heres what happened...... I was on the freeway Hwy 78, and it ends @ Interstate 5. You stop at a stop light and wait for a left arrow to proceed onto the on ramp. Well this on ramp is a S shaped on ramp onto the 5 south. Well it was late at night proceeded onto the on ramp fairly fast, didnt notice the sprinklers were watering the on ramp, as I went through the first turn, the rear end hit the water and started sliding, since I didnt notice the water it scared me and I turnd the wheel to the right, and should have hit the accelerator, and most likely I would have pulled it out with the awd. But instead of doing that I lifted, the tires regained traction, and I was then heading for the right guard rail.... well I cranked the wheel to the left, but I ran out of road and bounced off of the guard rail. At first I didnt think I hit it, I thought I just hit the curb, well this was only a few miles to the house, so I drove it home and this was the damage. $ 7000k worth of damage. $ 500 deductible, thank goodness...

Lawsuit? That sounds like an accident waiting to happen, wetting down a dry road at a curve.
The only thing that could be worse is if it was below freezing. You may have a case, since applying water to the road does lower the coefficient of friction, creating a hazard.

I know that on ramp welll...
It is nasty...two lane into one...I have never been on it when it wasn't horribly crowded.
For the body work, I would certainly give Ryan Hernandez at West Coast Specialities a shot at the repair job....or DeschlerCollision in Orange, CA.
West Coast Specialties does all thye body work for Pioneer. The times I have had things done there, I always take in two (2) bottles of Tequila (El Patron). One (1) for Ryan and one (1) for the worker. Things seem to get done a little quicker that way.
Deschlers Collision is simply an incredible shop up in Orange. It is run by Tim Deshler, a very progressive guy. He has all the latest frame and tub jigs to check to see if the tub is straight...and to repair it if necessary.
Sorry to hear about the incident...you drove a way, and the car is repairable.

quite frankly, i am VERY surprised that you only did $7k worth of damage... in seeing the car, i would think that would cost a lot more than that to replace body panels, repaint, etc...basically the right side of the car (?)...

Sorry to hear what happened. Something similar happened to me 8 years ago with my modified RUF 911 SC. Worse, the car spun and I hit the guard rail three times, totaling the car! Be happy it was not worse! Gorgeous car you have by the way. Hope it will get fixed quickly.

Vince,
Sorry to see the carnage. Been there, done that, on the way to the Rumble. Only difference was gravel on the road for me. Car is still being attended to. I'm also surprised that your damage estimate is $7k. I thought it might be more.
Time to add to the beauty with a RUF Turbo-R package up-grade.
Best of luck.
