If you haven't priced a quarter pannel for a 911 you are in for a surprise. A friend needed two for an 88 cab. The quarters were quoted at around $5k each. OUCH

Vince,
If you are replacing the front fender and rear quarter panel you might want to consider ordering the parts yourself instead of leaving it upto a bodyshop and save yourself a few thousand dollars that can be spent on upgrades...

A few months ago from Sunset Imports they were around $1300 for NA and $1800ish for a widebody quarter. I'm sure they've gone up since then but I'd be shocked if it was close to $5k? Alan, were the $5k quarter panels for a regular 88 cab?

Glad you're ok! And that could have been much nastier ...glad it's superficial and not mechanical. Just remember that it really isn't $7000, so long as you're insured

That is exactly my point... my poor race car is still toast as I accumulate cheap parts... From the looks of it you need a front fender, a rear quarter and a headlight. I need exactly the same and a door too! I picked up from ebay the following:
1 headlight, 140 big ones,
2 rear quarters for the eye watering sum of...340 bucks
I found, but not bought front fenders, perfect from 450-600 bucks.

The labour I was quoted for a much more extensive damage than yours is presently at 3K.
So if you get the parts cheap and add labour etc, you may have leftover upgrade money from the Insurance check

5K for a quarter? Are they on drugs?

Darn, sorry man. I've been on that off-ramp many a time, but like Martin, it's nearly always been in traffic (slow), and when it wasn't it was dry as a bone. Sux that this happened. Could've been worse of course, so glad you're okay, and also glad that you didn't inadvertantly involve another vehicle. That could lead to injury, law suit, all kinds of ridiculous and unpleasant stuff--and you were just trying to get home...

Vince,

Very sorry to hear about your mishap and glad to hear that you're okay. I know how you feel... not fun. I've heard great things about West Coast Specialties by another RL member who had his car worked on there. Good luck and keep us posted on the repair and when you're back on the road again.
