Originally I was going to do the same, install RS Pulley and sell the 12 pt part, but changed my mind. If you ever need to do an alternator change, you still need the tool to hold the alternator shaft in order to remove the 24mm nut.

For this reason I thought the 12 pt tool was worth hanging on to. Stores nicely in the OEM toolkit as well.

I used mine as tent stake this past weekend while camping in the woods of Maine. There wasn't much wind so I couldn't test its holding capability but it did stop the ants from carrying me away in my sleep.

I found my 10mm triple square tool on the web somewhere for about $5+shipping. I did need to cut it down to fit. kd 2305 (No affiliation)

Pete,

Thanks for the link... I just ordered mine, $12 w/shipping. If anyone ever needs to borrow one just send me a note, I'm more than willing to loan it out.

Ordered the part online for the price posted above. Should be here in about a week.

I was in Autozone a few hours later and happened to see the exact same tool contained in a set with 3 other wrenches. Cost... $12. So I bought it.

I'm now 3/4 of the way through the RS pulley replacement. I'd be all the way done but the new fan belt I thought I had was really an alternator belt... I'll pick up the right one tomorrow.

Jeff,
It does have a limited number of uses. Cover the minimal postage and I'll loan you mine. PM me if you're interested.

Guys, the RS pulley does not allow the car to run correctly at idle. The alternator is not spinning fast enough and causes the car to run below 12 volts not charging the battery. I hate this about the pulley setup.
