Default smoke at start up & motor mounts

When you think about it, it makes pefect sense that these two are related. After having my engine rebuilt, I noticed it was smoking on start-up more than before. I mentioned it to my mechanic and he said not to worry, all horizontal engines do (and it has been well documented here). I have bypass pipes, so I can tell which side is smoking, and it was always the same side, and different from the side that was giving me trouble before the rebuild. After I re-installed the engine, I was worried about all the usual start-up / installation stuff, and did not notice for a couple months that motor mounts were shot and one side of the engine was 3/8" or so lower than the other. Not coincidentaly, the lower side was the one causing the smoke. Anyway, I installed RS mounts 3-4 weeks ago, and the engine has not smoked since.

Geez, EVERYTHING leaks on these cars Sounds as though you had a leaking motor mount, seeping onto your exhaust. Sooooo, you didnt need a rebuild after all?
