Default What's the differance in a CD-220 and CDR-220 radio?

I am thinking that the CD-220 is the cassette unit and the CDR-220 if the CD unit. TIA

I think you are correct. I have a cr 210 which is a tape player and a cdr 210 with is a cd player. I am looking for a replacement cdr 210 or 220 since mine is on the fritz if you have any?

Jonathan,
I've seen the cdr220 on e-bay occasionaly and also at a local Porsche salvage yard www.911pcar.com. I can't vouch for the quality of the salvage yard as I have only looked at the website and never done buisness with them. Good Luck with your search and if you do find a good source please post. Also let us know if it adapts easily to Ipod connections-it should.

Thanks Chuck. It says it does not come with plugs or harness, but wouldn't I be able to use my existing ones?

Double check over on the Boxster/996 boards - I thought the CDR23 was for newer cars with MOST-bus systems? If so, then yes it may physically fit in a 993 but you will have to rewire your car and get compatible components.

Also be awar that there are 2 types of CDR-23 - with internal amp and without (sheesh!!) Also, you have to get a new MOST compatible cd changer - not worth the hassle imho...
