Bagger,

Why was the stock nut used? Didn't the HDs come with that nut supplied? I remember when I did my PSS9s, I reused the large stock nut for the shock shaft. After I began to torque it down, I heard a sickening noise as the nut would not go down any further. I was green thinking I had stripped the threads on the shock shaft, but found out it was the nut threads that had stripped. Whew!! I learned my lesson and used the nuts supplied by Bilstein(which were 1 or 2 mm smaller and the reason I didn't use them in the first place) to complete the installation.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out.... time to drive that puppy....

Enjoy!!

I just went on Gert's Carnewal.com site to see what the nuts at the top of the shocks looked like. Seems as if the nut was included with the shocks... NOT the stock nut (as the shop ownere say'd... but, what does he know, eh?).

Here's what the nut looks like.... appears to be the same/same as Gert's.
