Hey PNW Guys! Last call for the Bogus Basin Hill Climb!
The Bogus Basin Hill Climb is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend in beautiful Boise, Idaho. I'll be making the 10 hour drive with a few local PCA gearheads.
This is one of the last club racing hillclimbs in the country.
I've ran it twice in past 911's. This year will be the first in the 993.
People come from all over the country to take a stab at the mountain. I will try to dig up some pictures in a minute. I strongly urge those interested in attending to check out the Silver Sage region's website at: http://www.pca.org/ss/BBB.htm for more information regarding the event.
I go only to have fun. The competitive guys scare the hell out of me because when you screw up at a hill climb, you don't scuff your paint from hitting cones... ...you get to experience true weightlessness while diving 80 foot of sky corner.
A few pics of past hillclimbs.
The copper Targa was my first 911:
The last picture you can see Stephan Kempers green targa was essentially 'flattened' when he hit the bare rock on the inside turn.

You won't damage your car if you drive within your limits. That's my motto.
Come on guys! I know there are some PACNW guys on this board.
...and you guys call yourself "men." Harumph!

I'll be there all day Sat, meeting up with Leland somewhere. As a spectator only. Got my car back a couple days ago. It is runnning oh so nice, and needs a few thousand mile break-in time. Anyone else going please pm me for cell # so we can at least meet at the BBQ Sat evening.

Terry, I'll see you there. I put your number in my phone. Give me a call if you need directions to the mountain. I *may* be able to help.
I look forward to meeting you.

You almost tempted me with this hil climb even with an 11 hour tow for me (SF Bay Area) to this! How fun. Had I known considerably earlier to plan the family thing around this, I would have loved to have done this. The hard sell is the 11 hours each way of towing to the spouse and 5 year old. Kind of a lot of "find the out of state license plate" game...
Please let us know if they do this next year. Also, post pics !
