Default Speedline Wheels Question

I have a friend that has a brand new set of 18" Speedlines that will fit my narrow bodied coupe. he bought them several years ago and they have been sitting in a box in his garage, never used, never even had tires mounted.

Two questions, what is the approximate price of these wheels new? And, what do you think a fair price for his set is?

Thanks for any help. Also what are the correct offset numbers for narrow body wheels, just for me to make sure they are what he claims them to be.

Daniel:

Are you talking the RS Speedline wheels with "Speedline for Porsche" (IIRC) etched into the outer rim ???

If so, they should be 52mm F and 65mm R offsets. The front wheel will have a 8 and 52 on opposing sides of the valve stem, while the rear will say 10 and 65.

Pricing will be a little tough. You can check the price new on Gert's site (www.carnewal.com) and start thinking what is fair from there.

Yep, these are the RS Speedlines, just like Gert is selling for $5000 per set. These are new in the box, and he bought them for $4500 a couple of years ago. Thanks for the link to Gert, he is the only one with prices for these listed on a website.

I think I can get them for about $2500, sounds like a good deal.

.. I would be counted in at this price too...

If your friend has doubts, I'm in the market for a set too.

I'd be interested as well. Of course it sounds like you're going to buy them. I'm in PA and would like to have a set of those.

The RS speedlines are very nice-looking wheels. Had them on my previous 993. A bargain at 2500. If I were I'd go for it.

I am going to have a look at them tonight or tomorrow to make sure they are as represented. Then I will be buying them. Seems like too good of a deal to pass up on. Too bad I just had my cup wheels repainted and new tires put on. Seems like a waste of $1200, but maybe I can sell them when the Speedlines are installed. I do LOVE the way the Speedlines look, and these are the only wheels I would consider upgrading to.

J-P,

You need to put back the RS centre caps.

Yeah J-P,

You won't win any concours if you don't have the original spec

This is a tough place...

I drove the car just before the photos were taken. The crest moved... guess I'll have to crazy glue these things
