Default 993 Turbo S Ducts GB *pics are here*

As I previously mentioned, I said that I'd post some pics (although I'm not so sure its safe anymore ) of the 993 Turbo S Ducts that Nick Mrozinski has advertised for sale on the Rennlist classifieds as soon as mine came in. There is a group buy organizing right now, which I was out of due to the fact that Nick filled my single order before all the flury began.

I just received them today, and IMHO they look awesome!! I could not be happier. I took Nick up on the offer to paint them black, and they look great -- very nice, smooth and shiny black finish! The lights are BIG and hopefully live up to the expectation that the lense and 55 watt bulb set-up in this piece is superior to the others available out there. The duct holes are deep and round, rather than shallow and oval, which I've heard can be problematic if you actually want to attach a tube/hose to feed air directly over to the brakes in addition to having them for cosmetic reasons. But hey - I'm far from an expert. So, we'll see -- hopefully I'll know something more about fitment to the car REAL soon.

Legal Disclaimer:
I've attached some pics of the ducts prior to attempting to install them on my car, but I MUST WARN YOU -- I'm a pure photographic amateur! Some of the pics show light glares -- leaving you possibly wondering about spots on the pieces or the quality of the paint. These are light / flash glares that I have no idea how to deal with (I know NOTHING about Photoshop). The pieces look VERY nice. So view and enjoy if you wish -- just don't hate me.

Oh yah: BTW if anyone feels compelled to send a lynch mob my way, please have the courtesy of giving advance warning so I can hide the wife and at least the 2 smallest kids.

Scott (sorry for the size of this thread & having to scroll -- I obviously don't know what I'm doing)

Scott,

It looks like the lights are glued on? So there's no adjustment to the lights?

Thanks,

Not yet. Give me a few more days, and hopefully I'll have found the time and can get back to you -- and post some installed pics.

Thanks,
You got it! The lights are glued in -- so appears no adjustment necessary. There is a spot towards the back of the light fixture that that can be opened up to replace a burnt bulb -- if necessary (see 7th and 8th pics). Can't wait to see these lit up.

Frank -

Not sure if there's a DIY on p-car.com, but I do recall a recent thread here that had some good advice. I'm no pro, so you might want to search a bit, but from what I recall, it appears that if you have the front bumperettes: simply pop off the covers with a screwdriver; take off 2 nuts each side (8 mm); pull the bumperettes off; then you can get to the 1 screw on each side that holds the factory fog lamps in place; remove and slide the lights out; there's 2 electrical plugs (each side) on the fog lamps; I think you need 2 male end electrical prongs to attach to the 2 wires (each side) from the lamp; I believe these can then plug into the outer (nearest the wheel) socket from the fog lamps; slide the ducts in and replace screws; re-install bumperettes.
