Buying car from out of state Porsche dealer.
Hello,
I'm interested in buying car from an out of state porsche dealer (North Carolina). I do not know of any independent shop for PPI near by. Would it be wise to do the ppi in the same dealer where the car is for sale? Would they be bias. I'm thinking of buying the car sight unseen. Do you guys think it is wise for me to do this since it is coming from a porsche dealer or should I go see car? I'm from california. Anybody with any experience from Paramount Porsche in Hickory, North Carolina.
thanks.

I think a PPI performed by the seller is just like asking the jeweler, you are buying a ring from, to appraise it... post a message to this forum asking for help to inspect or recommend a shop in North Carolina...if the car is close to me, I'd gladly help you...probably you'll find a "Rennlister" close to Hickory to help you out...get an independent PPI and good luck!

It's gonna be your car and you're shelling out a lot of money. Look at it yourself besides the PPI.
(Would you buy a house sight unseen? Doubt it.)

24FPS and others are right on:
1) See yourself or get a Rennlister to inspect/drive if possible
2) Try to get an outside PPI before purchase
3) Dealer warranty (IMPORTANT)
I bought my C4S from a dealer 3 months ago after I saw and test drove it. They would not do a PPI, but offered a 30-Day engine-drive train warranty. After purchase I did a post purchase inspection at my mechanic.. Nothing major, but got > $600 back from the dealer due to misssing/broken items found which I successfully argued were safety related and should be covered (broken jack-plate, missing air compressor for spare, etc.).. No way I would have bought without a dealer warranty to cover myself... A $6K valve job was not something I wanted to deal with right after shelling out the $$ for the car..
