Default Redemption...

I have been on this board for going on 4 years now ...enjoyed the content then, still enjoy it now. The few threads of late are an embarrassment to the Board and present a very undesirable picture of this community, at large, to newbies and onlookers. This is a place I genuinely care about and I don't wish to see my enthusiasm and love for this place change.

Remember the "if you don't have anything good to say" rule? Well I think that wise maxim was sadly overlooked. Let us, for the sake of the board, the friendships built here, the respect we have for those who give to this community (in one way or another through thoughtful posts, support of vendors, or simple congeniality and genuine love of the sport) bury the animosity and simply end it by refusing to feed it.

I have made friends here over the years, virtual friends via electrons on this medium as well as personal ones, and the generosity expressed in the exchange of ideas, expertise, time, and actual parts have no equal beyond this board --not that I have witnessed. Which is why I am truly saddened by the short tempers and ill-placed opinions which have bred an ill-will that is as contagious as any disease. So I respectfully and thoughtfully suggest that we move on with the "business" of enjoying this community, the camaraderie, and the the technical tidbits, and thus dispense with further vitriol.

Forgive me if this post offends but I, too, feel the need to vent when "hoping it would die down" didn't happen. So I post my thoughts, all in my most humble opinion, and will say no more on this matter except to reiterate the thanks I have for all those over the years and presently that have made this place a community of friends, and also an urging that we end the animosity by refusing to give it space.

Good day to you all, and thank you for reading me out.

Edward

Very nice, Edward..

Okay, back to P-cars...Edward, what's the latest on your track meister? I was hoping to see you at our last POC event on 4/23 & 4/24 at the Streets. Sadly, I won't be at the next one in June, so I have to wait until September to get back out there w/ the POC. I may do DE events with other clubs at Big Willow, but we'll see if my schedule permits any breaks during the week. Are you going to be doing an Alfa events on the Big track? If so, then please let me know since I may consider that as a good option. Thanks, Edwards.

Edward, I must say that was well said but:
You're dreamin' man !!!

There's always gonna be someone pushing their weight around on another who they feel is out of line with the established protocol on the board, hasn't brown nosed enough, do a search because your question has been asked a million times and your an idiot etc... Their are two ways to deal with it, either you show disrespect to the c*cksucker who has disrespected you, or you ignore them. Your response will depend on what kind of day your having and/or what kind of person you are I suppose.

One thing for sure it's not going away. It'll end up being like roadfly or some other board.

Thanks for the kind words, all! I really do appreciate the sentiment!

Rich,
Thanks for asking about Mr. Trackmeister. I am currently under financial constraints (story of my life, but I'm not complaining ) so my biggest problem at the moment is tire purchase!! I've just sourced some used, decent street rubber, and I'm scheduled for Buttonwillow on Memorial weekend. You wanna come out and play? PM or email me!

Randy M,
Your opinion is just that. We all make choices. You can choose to accept life with a measure of fatalism where we allow bad behavior just because "everyone does it." Alternatively, I choose to affect change where I can. Failure or success, I will continue to work/strive to make my corner of the universe a better place, only because it matters to me. If that makes me a "dreamer," then guilty as charged. And thanks for the compliment

I agree. Too much infighting and too many folks getting angry over nothing. Drive your porsche. Plus fighting on the internet is like pissing in the wind...

Edward - very well said - wise words indeed.

Randy - damn, I have to say it again ... I love that avatar!!! I have made it my screen saver. Nothing better than being in a heated negotiation on the phone only to have that pop-up. It makes me laugh every time.

Edward,

Outstandingly well presented! We do make our own choices as to communication style and we can all decide to be cordial.
