Default Riviera blue info please

Was Riviera blue available from 1995 to 1998? It's an amazing color for a 993! I'd love to see a Riviera blue Targa...any pictures would be very appreciated. Thanks...

I think it was available all three years. A Riv Targa would be a rare find indeed.

As a standard color, it was only available for MY'94 (ROW) and MY'95 (ROW+USA). For MY'96 and MY'97, Porsche replaced it with Blue Turquoise (non-metallic). For MY'98, there was no standard flat blue.

Hi Viken,

Would you happen to know how many Blue Turquoise cars were made each year? I was told there were only 12 brought into the US in '96, but was wonder if that was accurate or not.

TIA

Hi Alan...I hope you don't mind I did "copy&paste" your picture as reference...I fell in love with this color and I'm not sure whether is Riviera or Royal blue...

To me it looks very much like Riviera Blue.
Never heard about Royal Blue though.

I live in Sweden and have a US spec. 993 C4 1997 in Blue Turquoise. I enclose a picture of it taken during a Slalom competition together with PCS (Porsche Club Sweden) which took place at Ljungbyhed Airfield.
I have todate only seen one other 993 in Blue Turquoise and this was a 993RS.

One thing I've noticed is the Riviera Blue and Turquoise Blue can look very similar based on the lighting and camera used to take the picture.

When I had my front bumper resprayed, the body shop pulled out the Riviera blue paint chip sample even though I told him it was Turquoise. Once he placed it up to the car, did he notice that Riviera is lighter than Turquoise (and this is a body shop who deals with Porsche's all the time).

If you look at the Gallery link in my signature, the car looks like it is Riviera in those pictures (very sunny day).

Thanks guys...I think Chuck is right...both colors look almost the same...and both look solid (not metallic)...I'm buying the color charts on eBay just to make sure but I think Riviera was available in 1995 and Turquoise in 1996 and 1997...both colors are amazing...

Beautiful car Chuck...hey Turbec...thanks for the picture from sweden...
