Default Supercup Question....

What is the difference between older supercups with the removable baffles, and the newer ones without. Any quality differences, preferences? Anyone like one better than the other?TIA

Yeah Phil, Thats what I meant, "without" meaning non-removable. Sorry about that. Is there any advantage to either?

You are quite helpful. The old baffles were susceptible to just blowing out eventually. Also, I made a direct comparison between the old and new supercups and IMO, the new style supercups were much louder. Good luck!

I've heard both, as well, and thought that the older style without the baffles was louder.

I like the old style muffler because I can put the baffles in for street (I have no cats so the sound is "little" loud without baffles) and for track I take them out.

The older ones had removable baffles, new ones are welded in as everyone has said.

I bought a set without the baffles and bought CC inserts for them. Then I had them ceramic coated. Then I heard this guy GT Racer with his 996 and thought mine was not loud enough so I took the baffles out. It is loud but a lot of fun to drive.

Thanks to all!
I am looking at a set from another rennlister, they are the older style with removable baffles. I was just trying to get a feel for which ones people like better.

I have the old style as well. Yes the baffles will blow out if you leave them with the one screw setup. I added 2 more and since then I have no issues. My only issue is that these buffles are rust buckets now and I will have to recoat them or something...

what I loved about the removable feature is that you can be loud and proud at the track and then put the baffles back in when you leave to be a little quieter...

I've heard of people barfing out the fiberglass packaging if leaving the baffles in place while out on the track... I wouldn't know because I took them out all the time at the track..

...NEVER any issues driving to/from the track with the baffles in place either...

maybe people had the bolts holding the baffles in rust out??? I dunno what to tell you guys...

I heard the new style... the new style is louder baffles in.. than the baffles in on the older style.. I think it is because of the fiberglass material helps (baffle) some of the noise.. BUT if you remove the baffles, the old style is louder

I have the older set with the removable baffles. I run them without the baffles and love the sound. I will, however, put the baffles in for long trips. The removable baffles can also be wrapped in fiberglass or unwrapped. You have many options with them. If you have a chance to buy them, jump on it.
