Default Backlit rear seats after Installing 3rd Brake Light Roof Spoiler

While the p-car was in the bodyshop, I decided to have the 3rd Brake Light Roof Spoiler installed.

The only thing is that you get the red light shining through onto the back seats. Not really a problem in daylight but Im sure it will be when someone sits in the back in the dark. Is this usual or have the bodyshop forgotten something?

Thanks.

Someone in the back seat????? And I use the term 'seat' loosely. Nobody sits there.....

It's totally normal! It's an easy way of knowing that it's still working... (check P-car for when it stops working)

OT: Out of curiosity, what bodyshop did you use in/around London? How were the results? I'm looking for recommendations to cure a deep scratch when some ****** keyed the front wing...

Bins,

Normal (but annoying). When you touch the brakes at night you think there's a Martian spaceship landing in your backseat.

On the few occasions I've had someone wedged into the back seats, stray light was the least of their problems.
I presume you could install an opaque strip (e.g., dark window tint) to block the light if it's a bother.

Thanks folks. Thats good to know its common and off worldy.
No bother (for me anyway, and I dont intend to sit in the back while the car is in motion)

Zoomzoom, I had it done by Premier Bodyshop in Luton (approved Porsche Bodyshop) because it was in there for a not at fault insurance job. So it would be very expensive but a good job with lifetime guarantee.
An excellent independent I have used are Clark and Carter in Braintree,Essex (ask for Steve). Another is Top Gun in Oxfordshire who I havent used. Both know their Porsches. They maybe a little far from London but its worth it to get good quality.

When one of my teen age daughters is stuffed into what is loosley described as a back seat they invariably comment on the "cool" light show. I don't mind the "show" it lets me know everything is working.

The only bad part I have experienced is that someone can see from the front of the car when you're braking at night. I spent 15 minutes with a cop recently trying to explain why I was braking when I saw him - just a reflex so no ticket.

Vroomvroom,

If Reading's not too far from where you live, then I can recommend Specialist Paintwork. They specialise in paintwork for high value cars (and seem to know a lot about Porsches), and have done some good work for me.

Steve.

Apologies zoomzoom, I obviously had the Thiery Henry Renault Vroom Vroom advert kicking around in my head.
