Default Turn signal not working when head lights on ..

I drove my TT at night today and when the head lights are on, the left turn signal does NOT blink,.. a solid (not flashing) left green arrow remains on in the tach. The right turn does work.
When the headlights are off (daytime), both turn indicators work fine.

What to do?

please read the above,
the signals work fine when the headlights are off.
When headlights are on, the left signal does not blink and the 'green arrow' on the tach just stays on in green. The right side works.

Have you tried replacing the bulb or at least switch it with the bulb from the other side? If it's a dual filament bulb, you may have one of the filaments out that is not functioning when the lights are on. Give it a try and see if that solves the problem.

Rob,

Did you try swapping the bulbs?

I had a similar issue with my left turn signal not working if I used my brake pedal, the turn signal arrow on the tach was also solid. I cleaned the contacts in the rear socket and put a new bulb in and the problem was gone (i might have also replaced a fuse). Its pretty much impossible to hurt yourself or your car if you pull the rear signal assembly and check the wiring, sockets, bulbs, etc.

The TT's turn signals were acting goofy when the car came to AK....turns out the relay came loose. All I did was push it back down and they worked great. I love getting lucky like that!

The relay is located on the left side of the car under the dash..you get to it from inside the bonet.

After checking that, checking the bulb are 2 easy trouble shooting techniques to try before you start going into wiring issues.
