Bridgestone S02A vs S02 Driving Impressions
First of all, there is no intent on my part to start another tire thread (tread?). But for those interested and especially for those with S02's on their car, here's a quick note. This winter I removed fairly new S02's (5,000 miles or less) and installed the newer S02A's. My sole reason was to try and see if I could get rid of some of the cabin tire noise and the awful rrrrr...rrrrr...rrrr at low speeds. Everyone with S02's knows what I mean.
I drove my car home from storage yesterday and after about 50 miles and cranking it up to 80-90 mph, I can honestly say the new tires are VERY QUIET as compared to the older S02's. And there is none of the low speed noise that I always got from the S02's at low speed, even when brand new. The S02A's are a big improvement in noise level - and seem to provide a smoother and less harsh ride as well.
That's my take on this change. Hope this is of some help to the S02 owners out there. And thanks to Viken (once again) for his recomendation on these tires via PM some months ago.
Best to all my 993 friends.
