How long have you owned your 993?

4 years now. Cost in maintenance is marginal, compared to any Honda or Toyota (or Volvo ...sheesh!) But it has consumed my thoughts and passions more than I care to admit ...in the best of ways, of course
It's an absolute joy and a keeper to the end.

Olav, this is your thread...are you going to tabulate the numbers? It would be interesting to see the average and shortest and longest ownership. Hmmm also, most and fewest miles per year or month.
Oh, to update mine for milage: 20,000 miles in 7 years in August...yikes, not even 3000 a year!
BTW, due to weather and work and other business, I had not started or driven the car for about 5 weeks. I fired right up and ran smoothly from the first instant. I remember a thread a while back where after sitting, the cars would run rough for a few seconds. I drove about 250 miles before putting it away last time so maybe the long trips help with the startup.
Good stuff here!

One month from Saturday 10 yrs ago I headed for Zuffenhausen for tourist deliv and 10 day drive....incredible fun.
I now have other (more recent & $$) Pcars but I have no problem admitting to anyone, that when they are all gone, I'll still have the 993.

I took tourist delivery at Zuffenhausen on Jul 9, 1994. My face still hurts from a full day of smiling at the factory . Almost traded it for a 997 in March but could not stand to part with a near flawless, reliable car.

5.5 years and still going. I like many others here plan on keeping the 993 till the end. I hope to have other p-cars along the way, but the 993 will always be there.

Mine only since December 04. Check back with me in 10 years and I'll still have it too!
As my 5th P-car (83' SC, 91' 964 and two 996's prior) I can say without a doubt that the 993 is the best one.

Owned mine since 9/04. Purchased from advertising executive who is voice of Jack on the Jack of the Box TV commercials. I had great trepidation selling 1978 SC which I owned 22 years and concoursed occasionally. But with the experience of driving, working on and simply gazing at the 993...all is well again. Nice to hear about all of the similar comments on RL.
