Default 993 VIN Info - Color Codes???

What kind of information can be gleaned by the vehicle's VIN? I've found a car that is advertised as one color but it appears as another. Will the VIN reveal this?

No. What color do they say it is and what color do you think it is? Any chance you can get the paint code?

Here is a break down of how a vin number reads!

digits 1-country code
2-manufacturer
3-vehicle type/make or manufacturing division
digits 4 thru 8 - model equipment codes incl transmission, reareend ratio, etc

digit 9 will always be 1-9 or x

digit 10 - model year
digit 11 - manufactruing plant
digits 12-14 - manufacturer's id suffix
digits 15-17 vehicle serial number

WPOAA2999WS320526 is the VIN. I've asked for the paint and option codes. Keeping my fingers crossed.

License plate means nothing. If you want to verify the color, we need the paint code.

Could you ask your local dealer to run the VIN, won't they be able to give specifics about ext/int colors and options?

Over here in Europe, there is a sticker in the service book with all the color codes. A copy of the codes is also found inside the front hood of the car...
