180 is as good as the dragons tail but a lot closer. 129, 60, 180, and Cherohala Skyway all blow away the dragons tail in my opinion. I have been riding bikes and making movies up in these mtns for years now. I was up there the other day. I was cornering so hard, my windshield washer resevior low light was coming on.
well, we meet at 7:30 and allow an extra 15 minutes for stragglers. That gets us on the road by 7:50. And figure 30 minutes until we reach the mtns. Any later then we run into the RV's, bicyclists, and sightseers clogging up the roads - pretty boring then.
