Jim, The time was simply a suggestion and equally affects So Cal folks too. Eberly Winery told me we there's nothing alse scheduled until 6:30 when they have a dinner party scheduled in their Cave Room. So, we have plenty of available time to set our agenda. We have many options. We could set the BBQ for 12:30-1:00 or so, and the wine tasting afterwards if that seems most appropriate.
It's another budding democracy here, so ignore that man with the Kalishnikoff and speak up!

I think your timing is a good idea. I think the group should focus on one principle thing for the day. If it's a mid point social meet, then so be it. Getting a bunch of these cars and owners together is an event all its own. Very cool !
From the drive perspective, we ran about 45 minutes to an hour late on the SB Sunday drive and that route was pretty simple. Given the work you are putting into this, I would hate to have a group of us run a similar amount late and spoil the meet.
As you say, others need to speak up and say what they want / expect.
As you may not be hearing this enough...THANKS for doing the coordination !!!
Regards

Jim,
If BBQ starts after 12:30, we'd have time. Last rumble, I was the only Nor Cal guy there before 3 pm.
I'm not seeing a big show of hands from the Norl Cal guys this time either. It could be just a two-car convoy - you and I. Please see what you can do re the route. Thanks.

CP, don't forget the third car in the convoy. No matter what the route or the depart time. I was only late last year because I got lost.

Stephanie and I will look for a hotel over the next few days. If we can find a place to stay, we will be attending. We would plan to drive down on Friday and stay until Sunday.

Raise hand for one more Nor-Cal. I will coming from Sacramento, so meeting other Bay folks might not be the best idea. Is there anyone coming from the Sac area? If no one responds and you Nor Cal guys have a good route from the bay, I'd be willing to go out of my way a bit. Sacramento area anyone?

For those of us sending a check...Do you have an address for that???It seems that a time between 1:00 and 2:00 would help those folks making the drive on Sat.Those of us coming in on Friday, can maybe do one of the back roads Sat.morning...just a thought

Let's do it right!!!
Get hotels, tents, whatever, and then charter a bus...no chance for a DUIs that way.
I'll start arranging an optional tasting when we have a firm headcount.

Other tasting opportunities....
Once I get a head count, I'll line up something special, and not Justin, Justin is very commercial.............they have two tasting areas, one for their wine club members, and the other for the rest of us. A little too snooty for me.
My kind of winery is L'Aventure, the Avenger made by Villa Creek Restaurant in Paso, Palm wine...I have a few more off the wall wineries in mind....it will be a pleasant surprise!

So are we decided on date and place then?? (Martin, I'm in for two as soon as our collective plans solidify). I, too, would like to make reservations. Has anyone looked into a "Rennlist motel venue" of sorts? ... not so much for a price break but more to keep us kind of together. What city is everyone staying in?
