It is slightly over your mileage requirements but not by much, looks like a good value.

check out the white targa at http://www.europeanlocators.com/.

here is the text from the web site:

VIN WP0DA2997TS385402 Done in perfect white over tan partial leather, this crisp and fresh Targa has been very well maintained and is a joy to drive. With only 62,000, two owner miles the car sports Factory options which include both front and rear supple leather seating and trim, power seats, painted center caps for the specialized 17" Targa alloy wheels, Am/Fm/CD with 6 place changer and Premium Sound, console storage for 6 CD's, chrome oval exhaust tips, new Porsche floor mats and cruise control.

Owner added enhancements include the Root wood e-brake and shifter and aluminum bezels for the instruments. Regularly driven during good weather, the car has never seen snow, smoke or paint and it's excellent condition belies its mileage. Available with either the stock 17" Targa alloys or 18" black and silver Techart wheels, it is offered with all manuals and tools for a very reasonable $42,000 OBRO.

Good luck with your search. I'm also keeping an eye out for the right one. Price is definitely a consideration in my case. There seems to be may more Tips than sticks for sale if that matters to you.

Did you all see the Targa Tip that just sold on ebay for $44,995? 20K miles, but a tip. Good price.

From what I've read 96-97's have potentially expensive roof problems, not solved untill 98. Something to consider.

AJ USA had a white targa when I spoke with them about four weeks ago. It is still listed on their web site. I seriously thought about it.

I saw a white Targa for sale on what seemed to be a mechanic's lot in Glendale recently; snapped a camera photo but unfortunately the phone number on the for sale sign is not legible. I think it had higher milage, maybe around 70K. Did not look pristine and was probably a daily driver, but it was OK and may just need some TLC. I don't remember if it was stick or Tip. That's all I know. If this is something you might have interest in, I can try and stop by and get some more information (have not seen it sitting there lately).
