Default What does this part do?

Am waiting for a new wiring harness, the wire coming from the connector connected to this part broke, I have no idea where it connects to. Have removed the connector for now since Im worried the dangling wire might cause a short or get caught in some moving part.

What is this part anyway? Is it safe to start the car without the connector plugged into it?

Thanks.

Looks to be some sort of solenoid to control a vacuum signal of some sort, probably HVAC related.

My guess anyhow. Dont think starting your car without it connected would do any damage.

It's the flux capacitor - it makes time travel possible, you know 1.21 gigawatts!!

The connector has two wires , one red one brown. But sorry I don't know what it's used for.
