993 TT powered Noble M12??
I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I have to ask about it. I was reading Car and Driver's write up on the Noble M12 GTO, I started doing some research on the cars. They can't be registered as actual cars because they don't pass crash tests. So instead, they are registered as kit cars. In order to do this, they cannot sell the car fully assembled. So what they do is sell the body and frame and then provide you with the name of a supplier that makes an engine and transmission close to what the Noble factory specs are.
This got me thinking... what if instead of buying the stuff from Noble, what if you found a wrecked 993TT and put the engine and drivetrain into the M12. This would make one crazy car... crazier than the Noble is already. Any thoughts on this???

took the Noble out for a spin at the dealer - highly recommend it. Anybody that flames on that car hasn't driven it. O wouldn't trade in my 993 for it because it certainly not a daily driver but for fun Sunday rides/track it would be hard to top.
I agree about the spoiler - they told me it was optional. Lots of people get it without the spoiler
Here is the one I drove.

In the late 60's my group of rachet friends and I put a 289 Mustang V8, T10, 4:57Jag rear-end in a Bugeye Sprite, a 327/T10, 4:88 Chevy rear in a 52 Thames/Anglia sedan delivery om a tube frame, and the ultimate, a 427 Rat(L88)/Muncie, in a 66 Datsun pickup on a tube frame. One of the guys worked at Blairs Speed Center in Pasadena and we used their facility at nights.... Only the Anglia ever really worked right, but you sat back behind the rear edge of the doors making it a bitch to get in/out, and deadly on vision. It turned low 11's consistently and I drove it daily. The Datsun turned low 10's a few times but always had problems like wanting to flip over backwards. The Sprite couldn't keep axels, diffs, or traction for that matter....Of course our interiors never looked anything like that beauty....
Fun stuff, wish I had that Anglia now....

Wow... do you think it would be doable?? My only concern is that its a midengine setup car, how would the rear engine setup of the 993 drivetrain adapt?? Sorry the engineer in me is coming out now.. :-D

The Noble is actually wider than a 993 so i don't imagine that fitment would be a problem. I'm not doubting that a project like this would take a lot of money to complete, but you would have one bad *** car when it was complete...
I definately wont' have the money to do something like this for quite a few years, but if the Noble is still as amazing as it is now, this would be an amazing project...

Gentlemen,
I am a former Superformance S1 owner - Superformance builds the Noble for Lee Noble in South Africa. I purchased my car from Dean Rosen, who is the Noble importer here in the United States. I strongly advise that anyone considering the purchase of a Noble contact me personally before doing so. Superformance does perhaps the world's best paint jobs - you will want to speak to me about the car the paint goes on
