Bobby - Call Burl at Becker NA - he is the parts guy.

Any one need an HK Traffic Pro Faceplate? I bought the Porche Version - the original is in perfect condition. PM me if anyone has questions on the latest TP Navigation software.

I went from a 210 to a 220. I think there is a big difference between the two. Not only in looks but also in sound. Very easy swap but plan on the $50 Becker face plate mod. It is a must.

The faceplate mod from Becker was HUGE in terms of being able to finally read the display. I made the switch from the stock radio solely based on my desire for a **** to control volume and tuning versus the buttons....

where is the aux input for the ipod (i'm thinking sirius)?...i don't see anything into the face, is it behind the unit? would you have to permanently run a wire behind the dash and leave it dangling on your carpet when not in use?

I have the CR1 in my car with the HiFi option. I also have the factory CD changer. Anyone know if I upgraded to a CDR 220 if it would still control the changer? Is it a "plug and play" to swap the units or do you have to also swap out the mounting chassis/bracket in the dash?

220 looks great, very factory looking. Wish my new Pioneer looked that way!

It is plug and play. My HI-Fi digital controller also worked with it. It controls the CDC-3 changer, I am not sure about the others. If you call Becker they can tell you.

Eric, The CR-1 is paired with the CDC-1 disc changer. If you upgrade to CDR-220 head unit, you must upgrade the disc changer to the CDC-3 unit and run a new cable between them.

Midcont, the aux input is in the back of the head unit.

Hi Marc,

I just replaced my tape deck with a CDR-220 as well, however I can't seem to get it completely flush with the dash no matter how hard I push. I also don't hear the expected click of the side tabs. Your pic seems to show your radio completely flush. How did you manage to do that? I reached under the dash and moved all the cables out of the way, but I only have the accessibility of the left side. Perhaps the cable on the right side is getting blocked somehow?

For those thinking of doing the swap, the CDR-220 sounds noticably better vs. the CD-210. As said here, the upgraded faceplate is a must. The CDR-220 was made for the 996 which was mounted lower than in our 993s.

I have the CR 210 cassete player and the Hi Fi option and in trunk CD changer, and would like to get a radio with an in dash CD player. Anyone want to unload their old CDR 210? It would be an upgrade for me. What is the cost of the CDR 220? Source?

Hi David,

You can usually find them on ebay and sometimes here. I'm not sure the price difference between the 210 vs. the 220, but I would try to get the 220 if you could as it has the compatibility of hooking up an IPOD and the faceplate looks a little better imo.
