The closest replacement I have found is the bronze, not mirror coated Maui Jim's. I have a pair in each of my cars. I would like the lens even better if it were not polarized (Makes the tinted safety glass in the other cars look modeled).
Rayban now offers a "chrom-max" ( or at least I think they call it that ) made specifically for driving. Pretty good, but not as nice as the Maui's... 2 cents worth.

RJT, I have two pairs of Maui Jims.. Got them from work (part of a trip to Kona)...
Anyway... I was going to post them on ebay, but if you want one of the pairs, let me know.. we can work it out.

I am using Maui Jim's and it gives me a little light headed at the beginning, almost like prescription glasses. When looking down on my shoes, I felt a little taller 
. But after a while, it's perfect and actually enhances the vision. Rainbow is everywhere too.

The other day, I saw a guy driving a Prowler, which I consider the ultimate in poser cars (no acceleration, no handling, no comfort, no economy, no space... no nothing) and he had those mirrored sunglasses. I thought "Perfect sunglasses for that guy in that car".

Serengeti Drivers in whatever frame style you like - cut through mist & haze, sharpen contrast, etc. Not very dark, so not ideal for the beach or ski slope, but then, I don't drive on either.

I've love my prescription Oakleys. I remember reading a pilot survey in which they reportedly rated highest for optical clarity. The wrap-around shape helps to eliminate side entry of light.
On a negative note, they were very expensive (almost $500 due to the prescription lenses) and the funny shape makes them less than perfect for wearing under a helmet at the track.

I have prescription Ray Ban "Aviator Classic" photo-cromatic yellow gsm. I really can recommend it. Yellow emphasizes contrast and probably 50% of us have light myopia already.
