I have 8J X 18 ET 52 up front and 10J 18 ET 65 at the rear. I run the tire sizes mentioned by Viken.

With my aggressive suspension setup, if I install larger rubbers, they would rub in the fenders.

Good luck and post your results. If they don't take them back, everyone here would like to know!

Jeff,

Technically the guy did sell you rims that would fit. However, it speaks volumes of their business ethic if they know that you are not happy with your purchase and refuse you any type of satisfactory resolution short of you having to keep the wheels and sell them on your own.

Like Monique said, keep us informed as to what happens.... Rennlist can be a powerful tool sometimes.

If I were you, I'd accept nothing less than the 8x18 and 10x18 wheels that were made for the 996. I assume you were looking for a performance advantage that these wheels would provide. Accept nothing less than what you want. Hope you can work something out with the vendor.

Good luck!

Thank you so much. I will keep you guys abreast of this black forrest racing in FL. I got an email late last night that said he'd work on it today, so we'll see. While I already feel somewhat mislead, admittedly I had not done a thorough search here to make sure I knew what I was talking about. Lesson learned!
Rennlist rocks!

Did you pay be credit card? If they truly misled you, send them back and dispute the charge on your credit card.

Jeff,

As I said in my PM, earlier, if you did use a CC, they will help in settling any goods dispute you have if you purchased using it, Paypal or not, I believe. If need be, use the credit card's corporate power to help bring this to a satisfactory resolution.

Good luck... I know this is a royal PITA.

Update: He's swapping out, no problem, being very helpful so far.

I'm shipping back and he's shipping the 8X18 / 10X18 50/65 offsets.

I'll update with a picture when they arrive !

Thanks for the advice, all invaluable.
