Default RSR Mufflers Arrived

My RSRs arrived today, and I had them on the car about an hour later. Robin does a nice job on these, and my first impression is that they are five or six pounds lighter (each). On the first drive, I didn't notice any resonance, the sound was just slightly louder with a more throaty tone, and the engine seemed to rev faster.

Mine took a few weeks to "break in" and they sounded louder and different after the few weeks. Love them now.

I just ordered mine and Robin told me 4-6 weeks for delivery. How long did you have to wait for yours? Not to seem anxious or anything...

Anyone know how long the wait is for RSR? I emailed Robin a few weeks ago and haven't received a reply.

Thanks,

When I bought my RSRs I was on a mission to create the car of my dreams. I cannot tell you how many 993 owners came up to me during the 2004 session DE session who worked flagging stations and asked me "What are those???they sound AWSOME!!" . I had to smile and think= I KNOW,,,,,,,,,,,pas through 3000 rpm with a K&N >>>>>>>>>WAHAHAAAAPPPPPPP!!
Thanks Robin!

slaaw: I'm retired, so my "schedule" is rather "flexible". Let me know if you come out toward Redlands or Palm Springs, and we will hook up.

993 Guy/donsacto: I ordered mine in September, but I think Robin has been going through some rough times, so it took longer. He may have it back up to speed now.

Bought mine in 2001. They sound better with age (especially with the engine sound deadening removed).

Agree that they get better after the first few weeks, I've had mine for a month and they are still improving, or at least I think so. Took about 8 weeks for me to get mine.

Delivery time on RSR's I ordered on 12/30/04 was 8-10 weeks. Seems like kinda long but worth the wait. Anyone have input on cost for independent shop instal? Seems like 1-2 hours on average for the labor. Recent clavicle fx (urgh) prevents DIY attempt.!

BTW, anyone have experience with Danny Kahler's shop in Dublin, CA for 993 service? Or SAS German Auto in Pleasanton, CA?
Regards, Gary

I know Robin is doing his best to keep up with the demand.
For those in the RoW (Rest of the World) I have the RSR's available with no lead time.

Mine took 12 weeks....

On the install, how's free sound? I had TT sway bars installed at the same time and my mechanic didn't charge me anything since he said he had to take things apart under their anyway! I learned a great lesson. I have a new shifter and e-brake for the car but won't have it done until I have the short-shifter installed....
