In an attempt to solve a occasional stumble in my idle (only occurs when the AC is off), I removed and cleaned the idle stabilizer. When I reassembled it, I had an obvious air leak so I took it off and put in back on again. After driving several miles, the CE light came on again. I had to drive another 20 or so miles before I could get back home.I removed the valve again, and discovered a crack in the rear hose under the clamp, which I sealed with black tape for now. Unfortunately, the CE light is still on. Do I have to go to a shop to have the light reset, or does this mean that I have still have some problem back there?

Pete;
If you have solved you idle control problem I would disconnect your battery, and wait a few minutes and hook it up, it should cure your problem.

Pete,
As an alternative to Kevin's approach, the CE light will reset itself after several driving cycles if no errors are detected. The only time a CE means anything really damaging is when it is flashing (that means that cat damage is likely).
I would just drive it normally for a couple of days to see if it goes out.
Also, if your car is OBD-2 ('96 and up) any OBD2 tool can reset the light. There are several discussed in older threads on this board.
