Talking Bringing the 993 Silver Bullet to CowTown !!

The time is near, and on Saturday this cowboy will fly into Harrisburg and pickup my 993 C4, it may have a dead battery from sitting unattended for a month in a storage yard.
Any ideas or recomendations on boosting it ?
I suspect that it may not be much diferent than my X5 or my A6, I had a 911 and a 944 about 10 years ago but never had to boost it.
All recomendations apreciated, I will be driving it up to Toronto via Buffalo on Sunday the 9th., all religious members please pray to the snow Gods to take a brake that weekend.
I also would like to thank MrCanuck (Grant) in Calgary for sharing with me his horrible experience in shipping his 993 from the US, with the same company that I had selected, which in turn prompted me to fly-in, and get it myself.

Cheers

Have a great trip! I chose to drive mine up from Cali last spring. Great fun, bad weather stayed away. How are you planning on getting it from T.O. to Cowtown. That would be an ugly drive right now.

I'd love to see the car when it arrives!

I will be putting into a train via Hansens Forwarding, they move lots of car from TO, and they are very carefull and highlly pofessional.
I should have selected them initially but they are not very strong out of the US, where the other guys seemed to be better suited to that part of of the trip, that is till I got mor info from MrCanuck and I talked to them specificlly about my concerns.
Aubrey, where do you get you service done ??
Thanks

Congrats on the new car!

Like any battery jump, just make sure you ground it away from the battery itself to reduce the chance of the gases igniting via a spark.

Battery booster packs are great. Canadian Tire sells a few different models which'll tell you if you've reversed polarity and also create no sparks, since you connect and then switch on. Also saves pushing cars around to get access to the battery, etc, etc. Unfortunately not easy to fly with.

Warming trend expected for the weekend; fingers crossed if wet it's rain...

Enjoy the new car!

Frank, I've had excellent results from Marc and Peter @ Alpine Autowerks locally. I'd recommend them. Other PCA members seem happy there as well.

Enjoy your drive! Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Looks like we're going to have a Calgary Rennlister's meet in the spring to check out all these 993's. Tired of the winter already

Default Harrisburg Pickup

I'm just an hour from Harrisburg. I wish I was going to be in town this weekend. I'd drive up and make sure you got going ok. Good luck and have fun on the drive!
