Track kit for sale
Here's an early word out - I'll f/u with pictures, but to get started:
DAS rollbar: 993 sunroof coupe, painted ocean blue, has second diagonal brace - makes an 'X' pattern, pleasantly symmetical. PO requested it from DAS to look more like the cup cars.
Weltmeister strut brace
Recaro SRD: grey cloth, has optional seat bottom slot for crotch belt, has stock seatbelt receptacle welded onto seat frame, and -- most importantly -- has extremely low profile sliders, only 3/8" high. Maximum headroom possible with a streetable seat, has a hinged seatback. Seat bottom does have a dime-sized hole in the fabric, I never bothered to have that cushion reupholstered.
996 C4 'wide spoke' wheels, with MPSCs mounted - tires only have a half-dozen heat cycles. stock 7" and 9" widths.
I haven't posted this stuff anywhere else yet - as with others, I want to give you guys first crack at this stuff. I'm open to fair offers.

Not sure what details I can give you, besides the color and the double diagonal brace. The original owner in Florida requested the second diagonal, and had it painted ocean blue to match his car. I don't know if it was powder coated or painted in a conventional fashion. The finish does have a few blemishes across the bottom bar that runs across the front of the rear seats & around the seat belt. It's currently in my car, and has grade 8 bolts for the main hoop, and grade *10* bolts that secure the rear braces into the seatbolt bolt holes.

The wheels are *not* concours condition - they're track wheels - but are round/true/straight. Never had any issues mounting/balancing, etc. Note they do not come with center caps.
Edit: I do have closeups of each wheel as well if anyone's interested.

OK--your car's grey interior looks identical to my car, down to the eyebolts in the back seat.
Is the installation as easy as it looks like it ought to be?
What $ do you want for the rollbar, and also for the strut brace?

Hey Marc, I was just typing a reply to your email - just discovered it in my spam filter
The installation really is pretty straightforward - you can do it without removing either of the stock seats, although it helps if you're skinny, flexible, and have an extra pair of hands to help you wrestle it through the small opening. OTOH, if you still have one or both stock seats in the car, it's pretty easy to pull those, so you might consider removing one of the seats just to give yourself more room the first time you install the bar. I put towels on the sills, and used racer tape to secure towels around the b pillar & roofline as well, to save the paint from accidents.
The main bit that can be a challenge is that often w. these bars, you can easily get the first three holes lined up, but the fourth one isn't quite right. This is due to disparate cooling rates of the welds, it throws off the alignment a bit. The PO gave me a long, wide tiedown strap w. a ratchet, and explained how to use it to pull the main rollhoop forward a bit (after the two rear bolts & one forward bolt were in) to persuade the last hole to line up properly. That made the last one easy. You're welcome to the same ratchet/strap w. the bar to help w. the installation.
Oh, and R&Ring the interior bits is pretty straightforward, also; it's one of the times I appreciate Porsche doing very simple things like securing the trim with exposed screws. Takes the mystery out of it, I'm always paranoid about breaking the plastic trim pieces in other cars that you have to yank out by force. Feel free to call me when you're doing the install for some tech support.
Since this bar's already painted & has the double diagonal, I'm hoping to get $750 + shipping.
Edit: I'm just after $100 for the strut brace - last I checked, new was $200+.

Hi Robert,
I just sold my set of track rims a couple of weeks ago and now I see you've got the exact same ones. I have NEVER seen these on the track or street, ever! I've always liked the look and liked the fact that they are "rare" in the sense that they are unique. Anyway, just thought I'd chime in with a useless/extraneous comment. Take care and good luck on the selling the stuff.

Thanks! It's funny, when I'd decided to just use take-offs instead of $3k Fikses or equivalent for DEs, I really wasn't thinking about their looks. But I've gotten lots of compliments on how those wheels looked on my iris blue 993 - funny how things work out.

Wow, I don't want to create any unhappy campers here, I want to be careful to work on first come, first serve. OTOH, I also totally forgot to reference any kind of priority to Rennlist members! So how about this -- Marc, if you want both the rollbar & strut brace, how about I knock $50 off the two, and in exchange you can use some of your savings towards a couple year's subscription to RL?

Damn,
you guys are too fast.
I've been looking for such a track kit for months, and now that a local sale was possible, it's aleady gone...
Robert, I really should not have missed the DE in december, I might have talked to you there !

Ouch, sorry about that - local sale of something big like the bar is always nice & tidy. If it makes you feel any better, I wasn't at the December DE.
