It was built with bolt-on wheel arches (easily replaced when damaged racing...) and two wheel drive. 430 hp in the standard street edition and 200 kilos lighter than the 993TT.

Narrow body with bolted-on fiberglass wide fenders. Twin-turbocharged and two-wheel drive.

Phil,

You can converts your C4S, it is a lot of work, as you have to actually cut back your original wings.

You will need to change your front bumper and add the 3 piece lower splitters to complete the look.

I could supply the parts that you require, you will need to space your original wheels out or use the GT2 factory items.

The bodyshell that they used had the turbo wider sills, so you are on your way.

I would be stupid enough to buy a GT2 if it didn't have those horrible bolt-on fender flares...were any made which had contiguous fenders...I remember seeing in a couple of pictures of GT2's which seemed to be that way...anybody seen any recent sale prices?

All GT2's had bolt on wheel arches. What you probably saw was a 993RSR or 993RSCS which has the same front lip and rear spoiler as the GT2, but, is of course NA and small bodied.

As Phil stated, the 993 RS/Clubsport or the RSR have a tendency to look like the GT2 and do not have the bolt-on fenders.

Phil

I put the wings on my narrow body and I think they look great (only my opinion - I have'nt asked anyone else!)

On a wide-body they should look great as well

Regards

Mike

The 993 RSR was a narrow bodied shell with BOLT-ON wheel arches that looked like the GT2, but were narrower.

To my knowledge, most RSR's did not have bolt on wheel arches, but one did, the CUP 3.8 RSR...

Most RSR's DID have the fender flares, the 3.8 RSR Cup and the 3.8 993 Super Cup car did not have the flares.

This is the last Air cooled RSR imported to the US. It is maintained by G&W motorsports and is one awesome ride. It does have the bolt on fender flares.

Greg,
Not to nitpick, but Paul Frère's book "Porsche 911 Story", sixth edition, depicts a photo of the Cup 3.8 RSR on page 317 with bolt on arches...

I was told that the RSR Cup didn't have the flares, maybe it was a delete option. I would guess most RSR's had them, or added them to get larger rubber under them. I know a fellow that I instructed that has one without the flares and have seen several on the internet so that is why I said that.
