LOL!!!💩💩💩💩. Surfing the web after 3 eggnog and whiskey's. Yes, I saw that to late but thought, good topic now that the 993 and the special versions have become more sought after in the last decade....by a significant amount.

Good information, regardless of date as this will be in the searchable archives!

Steve, the engine at Rothsport ready for the dyno once Scotty gets the fan housing back. Cam timing was .66mm, is suppose to be 1.8mm. Same issue I had when we checked the my 993RS. Never checked stock cams but this is 2 for 2 on RS cam motors from the factory. Not sure if its set wrong from the start or if its possible they could slip. Seems odd they were both at the standard cam setting. Should make all 300hp and will make good use of the M030 factory suspension you supplied me. Thanks.

Drifting cam timing is a known issue w/ the late pinch style cam drives. It seems that more RS have reported the issue than on the regular cars but that may be biased due to the RS owners higher expectations.

when i rebuilt mine I retrofitted to the older dowel pin arrangement. You either need new cams or perhaps machine the existing ones.

Thanks Bill. Did exactly that on an older 3.8 VRAM I had in an early car hot rod. Indeed the best way to go. I that one I was using a webcam in rs profile so I just used all the backdated parts.
