Can you really get a 49% increase with only 4psi? That sounds very optimistic. Is the kit going to include an intercooler?

This is probably a really stupid question, but can you mount an intercooler sufficient for such a system wither somewhere up front, or somewhere (rear quarters, as I've seen on a RUF) to avoid the big wing?

I'd be ready to go in the next 6-8 weeks. I'd want an intercooler solution preferably with the stock tail.

I'd be willing to drop a deposit depending on the details of the final deal.

Ok, I am not able to afford this upgrade at the moment, but would certainly be interested in the not too distant future.

1 stupid question, if I may ask; dose it matter that I have a Tiptronic car or is it all the same where SCs are concerned, I have often wondered?

This is interesting, and competition is always good. Good luck with you endever!

I had a TPC kit professionaly installed and then fine tuned by TPC. The dyno shows 322 RWHP at about 4 psi boost and with out an intercooler (better than 50% over stock). Everything fits under the stock lid, the clean, stock sleeper look. I am very pleased with the results.

While at TPC, I saw several cars being fitted with their water to air intercooler (non beta). This takes up a lot of space in the engine compartment, along with water lines going to the front of the car to a water radiator. Needs the turbo tail to fit too. This does provide more hp but it also adds about $4k to the total cost.

LOL all....

mr_bock,
Cool to hear their intercooler is in full production now...just a few weeks ago I got an e-mail from turboperformance.com and they said it was still 'coming soon.' Do you know if an intercooler would fit under a clubsport tail?

i have a picture of a kit with the intercooler my mechanic just installed. i have no way to post it but if someone wants to send me their e-mail address, who has a way to put it up, i can scale the picture dow (it's 23 meg) e-mail tit to them and they can put it up. the charger and cooler does completely fill the engine compartment.

If I were to do a SC kit, my 1st choice would be for a '87-'89 Carrera 3.2.
(I know it wasn't an option on the poll, but I think it makes the most sense because the highest HP level can be achieved without taking the engine apart).
My second choice would be the '95 only 993. That's one of the reasons why I bought mine. Still OBD-1, and the compact non-VarioRam intake leaves more room for the SC, which will have to be a Whipple 2300AX. (Damn it, I let my secret plans out!)

Can someone explain how 27% more air pressure can result in 50% more horsepower?

Sorry...I don't buy this 4psi figure...to get a 50% boost on the dyno, it would take 7+ psi, and race fuel...

Stephen, which blower would you use and are you any closer to deciding which models years to offer the kit for?

Graham,

The blower is not one that most have seen, it is from ATI. I don't really want to let a whole lot more out on it. They are about 5 miles from me so this works out well.

We have had a lot of interest and only 1 that would seriously be ready to place a deposit on a kit. The offer for test cars is amazing. The interest is there but the bottom line is it comes back to who is really wanting to do this now, not in a year or so. I want to build the kits, but can't justify the cost of development if I have 10 that sit on the shelf. The cost to make and produce something is huge.

At the moment my intentions are still focused on the 95 and older.

Stephen,

I really hope the blower is not one of ATI's centrifugal types which they are known for.

Stephen,
I counted more than 1 deposit offer, myself included. I would need some info about the final design though.
