Although I went without the sub and dont find myself lacking bass at all...Focal PolyKevlars up front do the trick...nicely. A cheap (40gbp) pair of Kenwood serve very well at the back too.

I just installed an Alpine CDA-9833, CD/MP3 receiver. This unit puts out a whopping 26 Watts X 4 (RMS) & has IPOD interface capabilities, meaning you can control your IPOD with the head unit. Believe it or not, the OEM speakers sound good when (powered by the Alpine); I’m going to add an Amplified Bazooka 8 inch base tube, camouflaged as a NOZ bottle. This is really nice, because you can easily yank the tube if needed.

To control the IPOD, did u have to buy the IF box? How much did the IF box cost?
My understanding is that all the Alpine radios with AINET capability can control the IPOD as long as u also buy the IPOD IF box from Alpine.
Details please?
Thx.

Yes, I did have to get the Interface box, i got mine for just $89.00. I've got a few connections in the car audio industry (thank god). The list price for the I.F. is about 125.00

I looked at that Alpine head unit too...it may be another xmas present to me.
I have had very poor experience with bazooka tubes, in terms of quality and longevity. That was with their waterproof unit in my rock crawler/mud beast. But the punishment didn't warrant its crappy lifespan.
I have an infinity 10.1d in a custom box now under my driver's seat (in the FJ) and it rocks my prostate.
