Default LoJack: Where is it?

In going through the stack of POs paperwork...I have come across a Lojack install receipt from 2 owners ago (1998)....Of course, it is worthless up here. Where would the unit(?) be installed???......I may have a hankering to rip it out, or something. Thanks. AK

From other makes of cars that I have heard about, it was located in the right rear fender area. Don't know if that's the area they would put it in a 993, though.

Lojack puts their device in lots of different places, and tries to keep them a secret... for obvious reasons.

The PO had Lojack installed on my car. A Lojack technichian is scheduled to come out and inspect the unit so that the unit can be transferred to my name. Hopefully, I'll find out where the unit is installed.

We don't want the crooks to know where the LoJack is installed. That is why there are no "Protected by LoJack" stickers available from LoJack.

An OnStar approach would be neat. That way you would know where your car is at any point in time as a result of the GPS.

I am sure the Technician will keep you away from the car while he does the work. They absolutly do not want anyone to know where it is. Abide by the the need and alow the Tech to do his work.

It seems odd not to know where something is placed on ones own car...or is it just me. At any rate....if I ever move to Southeast Louisiana.....I will activate it. AK

It is placed close to any 12volt power source (ACC on) that can be readly spliced into. The unit needs very little to recharge the battery inside it. The tech will not care if you watch or not(personally I hate to watch someone work). Lojack techs have specific places they can put the unit in every car. Some have more than one mounting location but they will go for the easiest spot. That spot is made note of when they activate the unit. On my car the tech spliced into the running lights circuit and since i hardly drive my car at night the unit died because it never received a charge. Good Luck with it

There are very few locations they can hide these inside a 911 because a 964/993 blocks RF so well. The older versions are real easy to find because they are a big orange block, I think the newer versions are tiny and black.
