There are some things you might want to consider in your model such as a credit for what another car, i.e. in lieu of a Porsche, would have cost you for the same time period, miles etc.

You could get fancy and do a discounted cash flow analysis; so you are not using absolute dollars...I think your opportunity cost factor (5%) is to high; hell you may have bought Enron or World Com stock with the marginal premium dollars you paid for owning a Porsche over another car.....My point is that when only looking at the difference between the Porsche and what you might have bought, the picture changes WITHOUT even putting a dollar value on the subjective factors such as reduced stress, better health and attitude at home.....A Porsche is like the best medicine you can take...Ah you get the point

I'm with Tim...don't keep the receipts or track of the costs past 90 days...that way it is a lot less painless.

Wow. Just imagine what that cost per mile (1.23) would have been, were you a "typical" Porsche owner, putting on less than 5K miles a year...

But the real question is did you enjoy the ride. If so it does not matter. Cars are not investments and never will be.
