Rear Seat Belt Retractor Non Functioning
Need a bit of help. Left rear seat belt retractor will not retract. Belt is fully extended and no tugging will release the retractor. I stuffed the belt in temporarily, but would like to fix it.
Or remove the rear belts altogether, as the roll bar precludes anyone from sitting there anyway. So, if I want to remove them, how can I get those retractors out?
Thanks.

I just took this stuff out (actually the entire interior) so it is really easy to take out the rear seat belts. You ned to remove the rear deck panel and the seat belts are obvisou from there. Rather easy actually. If you want to replace the one belt I can sell you mine since I am not going to be using them. Let me know if interested.

In the mean time, take both hands and pull really hard on the seat belt for a long time, 60 seconds or more. SometimeS that frees them up and the retractors come back to life.

When I was trying different child seats I had similar problem - rear seats belt retractor stopped working. Not giving up quickly I pulled the belt in different directions with various force(for about a minute) and it started to work again.

Thanks for the help. Ended up removing them. Turned out that someone had monkeyed with it previously. Tensioner was missing some peices compared to the good one.
