How do I jump this relay?

My instrument lights went out last night. I know the fuse is good because it shares a circuit with the license plate light which comes on.
I fiddled with the relay (R24) pulled it and reseated and the lights came on for about 20 seconds, then went out again. Sounds like a bad relay, so I ordered one today. I won't have it for a week or so and would like to jump the terminals to get instrument lights between now and then. I can't decipher the wiring diagram to understand what terminals to jump. Can someone explain it to me, please?
Thanks

58D : Goes to the illumination.
Also, the 993RS didn't have this instrument illumination adjustment, so if you look closely to your relay drawing, it shows a jumper inside the relay "Only RS".
According to the electrical drawings of the '97 the jumper should be placed between pin #4 and #7.
If you want to be sure, check the colors of the wires. The jumper should come between the green and the green/blue wire.

I just debugged the same problem on my 1995. The Relay is in a different place on my car so I add a link here as a cross reference. Once I located the "relay" it was easy to test the solution by jumpering 58 to 58d. I don't have a replacement relay yet, so there's a small chance the problem is somewhere else - like in the dimmer switch - but I'm 95% sure it's the relay.
Part number: 964.618.103.00
BTW - the dimmer part number, for future reference is: 964.618.104.00

You can always pop the relay open, clean the contacts and put it back in. If you want to get fancy you can buff the contact points with 1500~2000 sandpaper.
