Slightly OT: My car's a ***** magnet
I have a problem with neighbors cats, they like to walk all over my car and leave their footprints. Does anyone know how keep them away? I have a large dog but he came after the cats and he tends to leave alone. Is there some kind of chemical ( I don't want to kill them) I can sprinkle around to deter them? TIA.

Get a Jindo dog (very special Korean breed) (I have one). They HATE cats and will surely keep them away!
If you're interested, see here: http://www.kang.org/Jindo.html
A quote from that site:
"The Jindo's best known trait so far is its ability to hunt on its own. When left alone in the mountains, a Jindo manages to catch prey on its own. If it's small game, such as pheasant, raccoon or hare, it will bring it to its master. If the game is too big, such as a deer, it will first come to the master and return to the location with the master. The question is how does the Jindo dog translate into urban setting such as Los Angeles?...
This Jindo with a set of eyes of a hunter, snatched and killed a neighbor's cat that was sitting on a 8-foot-high wall."

Had a problem with a weasel... the little bar steward ate the plug leads on my BMW.
Fixed by placing a rag with plenty of 25% ammonia under the car. Kept the cap to cover after use and use the next night.
Weasel is gone.

Jim that is absolutely hilarious. Post-o-the day! The set up and delivery . . . seamless. My brace of German shepherds (now sadly only one since May) attempted to filet any feline within territorial distance, of course I would never give an actual release command and allow such behavior.

Perhaps you could set up a little monitor/video player and keep this running on a continual loop for the cute, little kitties.....(from the OT list)

I really hate when those hot furry things jump all over my car, seriously. Jumping all over me is okay, of course, but when they leave scratchs it really ticks me off. It just doesn't seem practical to "cover up" for 15 minutes while visiting a friend.
I do get sprung on the cat, in more then one way!
