Folding that passenger seat forward would render the rear child seat safe IMHO -your other half is going to be pretty p@ssed about having to cram up next to the little one in the back though !

I found that I can get almost zero movement of the base if I push the child seat all the way into the base of the 993 seat and cinch the 993 belt tight with the provided clip, but I cannot achieve less than 2 or 3 inches of forward movement at the top of the child seat. My son is very picky about car safety for his child. He finds it acceptable and has the same seat in his BMW. I have not found a way to anchor the top tether anywhere in the back. I found this Century Brevara Classic to work as well as other seats, and for only about $75. No affiliation, just satisfied.
