Best cloth for drying the car
What do you guys use when you dry the car after you've washed it? I've heard 100% cottong would be good but it feels too 'hard'.

FF,
Check out this thread on a detailing board about a new Micro Fiber drying towel sold online. If you all aren't aware about MF towels, they are revolutionizing the detailng industry. I am addicted and have about 10 now for everything from cleaning the dirt and sand off the interior without any cleaners when i go trailblazing at the track, to removing wax and quick detailer after a wash. They are really amazing.
Good luck,
E. J.

Hey Finn,
Not sure if your aware of this place but let me clue you in on a great place to get your car washed.
I wash my own car about 50% of the time but the hand car wash I use on S. Beach is great. They also do detailing and are very reasonable.
I think it's called S. Beach's finest.
It's right off Alton Rd near Boston Chicken.
Next to the gas station.
It's 1229 18th St. Miami Beach.
Besides.. It's pouring outside.. You gonna wash your car??

I'm using the P21S synthetic chamois which
is really a nice product. Unlike a non-synthetic chamois the P21S never dries up or gets brittle.
It can be found at www.carcareonline.com
Also take a look at the water blade. I have
not bought one yet but have heard very good things
about them.

Thanks guys!
KC, that doesn't seem to be a problem here...
EJ, that seems to be the way to go! Where can I get them? Forget that, I already found it!
B-Line, I know the place, good you mentiond because I'm mowing to a condo & I'm not sure where I can wash my car (by myself), I know a coin place up in Hallandale which I might use if I can't find anything better but I was kind of looking for a good hand car wash place to take my car on those occasions I don't do it myself.
Not gonna wash my car now, but tomorrow, I'll wash it & wash the rear wheelarces too (see pic. of my front, cleaned them & underside of the car last weekend).
When you gonna take you car to the hand wash next time? Maybe we could go there at the same time & have that cup of coffee & chat about Porsches?

Hi FF,
I use the California Water Blade (get rid 75% of the water) and P21S Drying Towel to dry my car. So far I'm pretty happy with this method.
Here are some links that might be able to help you:

Hope this helps

Thanks Suwipin,
I've been wondering about that blade. I assume (since you are using it) that it doesn't scratch.
I actually already ordered that big blue clotch so we'll see how it works!

Hey FF,
give me a first hand recap of the cloth to let me know what you think. I am not actually using one yet.
Also, I hope you don't mind, but I am going to use your pic to point out the 993 tie down loop in another thread.

Hi FF,
[quote]I've been wondering about that blade. I assume (since you are using it) that it doesn't scratch.

At first I was a bit skeptical about it too but then my neighbor who is a good detailer recommended it to me. So I bought one and used it on a black car (the ex-M3).
I think a black car will show scratches more than any other colors but I could not find any scratches that were due to this California Water Blade so I decided to keep using it.
But I do acknowledge that there's a risk of using this product though because I have to make sure that there is no dirt or whatsoever on the surface of the paint before I use the Water Blade. If there is and I am not aware of it, I will be dragging that dirt with the Blade
With that said, I'm still looking for a better way to dry my car FF
Maybe I should go and buy a Leaf Blower?

I will,
of course you can show the pic, if you let me know which on is that loop

The Absorber, available at most car parts stores, Target, etc, about $10. It's a synthetic chamois, really more like a sponge-towel. Tough as nails. I have one that's almost seven years old, and not a single tear or wear mark. Put it away damp, and run it through the washing machine if you wish. Just don't let it dry out.
