Default Couple of questions before I take the plunge on RS wing

I'm giving some thought to jumping on the RS wing and had a couple of questions.

1. What are my options for a rear brake light when I lose the basket handle? Anybody done this conversion and have an idea on cost?

2. I read the discussion on aero stability without the front splitters but I have the turbo nose? I'm guessing that it's OK because the true TT have bigger rear wing? Any thoughts.

3. Any ball park pricing for mount and paint the wing?

Thanks.

Keith

1. Do a search using word thrid brake light or brake light, there's a way of installing 3rd brake light on top of rear window (same way -96 & newer cars have).
And look from www.p-car.com for DIY on this.

2. Without having any hard data, I agree with you. Aerodynamically you should be ok with TT nose & RS rear wing. but how about getting TT wing?
I think RS wing lokks the best but IMO TT wing would look better with TT nose.

Personally I would go with the turbo wing. You won't have to drill holes in your decklid. A MA SHAW wing is a clean replacement. People can't tell the difference between what I have and a factory TT wing.

The turbo wing is another option for sure. I really wasn't sure if the TT wing was to large for the narrow-body car. I thought maybe the RS might be a bit smaller.

I'm sure there must be some rear-end shots of that combo.

Anybody care to post some pics????

My personal opinion is that the turbo spoiler looks fine as long as you have the turbo nose. I've seen quite a few cars done like this and they look great. If you have to drill the deck to fit the RS spoiler I would definitely take the turbo spoiler as you can always unbolt it. In addition, you could always slip a supercharger and intercooler in the space that you would create with the turbo spoiler.... ;-)

Cheers,

David

Robin has TT wing in his NB, doesn't look odd at all, check www.p-car.com for pictures.

I have the MAShaw RS wing and there was no need to drill the rear deck lid. Just take out the electric wing and use the existing holes.

Re. "You won't have to drill holes in your decklid." I have the Getty Design RS wing and again, no holed need be drilled, used the existing holes.

As to the cost to paint, that depends on how will the wing is finished. If it is rough, then the painter will have to prep it before paint. That is labor = $.

My Getty design wing was extremely well finished and my guy preped and painted it for about $200, cheap in my opinion.
