Dear Jason (hope I have right name), Tried pm'ing and wasn't allowed to do, so resorting to this plea for help.
I just got my trafficpro and was reading posts for issue re: no sound and found you had same issue and were able to get around it via "jumper". I am ok with electronics but not an electrician and have stupidly removed my amp (without removing the seat - no small feat!) thinking this was the issue as power is definitely getting to the two red wires in the wiring harness attached to the amp. If you wouldn't mind, could you walk me through the jumper solution? Thanks and hoping not imposing with question. Randy

Randy,
Please check out the 'Installation' link on this website http://www.johnfelker.com/becker/tp.html and find the diagram on page 5. You will need to jumber A5 white (Amp control) to C1-6 green/brown (Amp control) to make the Trafficpro come alive. For your reference, I found out about the jumper method from this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=trafficpro Please let me know if you need more info. Wish you luck.

Well, I finally got it done thanks to the board and Jason. Here is my informal DIY for a trafficpro for a 993 with hifi option and following factory harness set up WITHOUT SPEED/GAL PIN IN BLACK PLUG WIRING HARNESS. Note that my factory wiring harness did not have two black plugs, only one - the one with power, etc. The other black plug is for the speakers - in mine, the speakers are routed through the factory amp.:

Yellow plug (goes into C1 of traffic pro unit - upper right plug in, actually each female recepter can only take the correct factory harness male connector anyway),

Black plug (goes into A1 of traffic pro unit - bottom plug on trafficpro), antenna cable, goes into antenna lead on bottom left of unit looking at it from the back - pretty self evident,

thin clear female plug with white wiring coming out of back of Black plug referred to previously (this is the A5 wire referred to above) that plugs into black wire from factory harness with male connector.

IF YOU PLUG THE FACTORY HARNESSES INTO THEIR RESPECTIVE LOCATIONS ON THE BACK OF THE TRAFFICPRO UNIT AND YOU GET NO SOUND, THEN PROCEED WITH STEP 1. IF YOU LOOK AT THE BLACK FACTORY HARNESS PLUG THAT HAS THE POWER, ETC COMING TO IT (THIS PLUG IS THE ONE THAT FITS INTO THE "A" FEMALE RECEPTACLE ON THE TRAFFIC PRO UNIT AS REFERRED TO ABOVE), AND THE HOLE FOR A1 IS EMPTY, IE THEIR IS NO FACTORY PIN FOR THE SPEED SENSOR THEN GO TO STEP 2.

STEP1. GETTING SOUND
Don't ask why but you have to connect the power from the the white wire coming out of the back of the black factory plug located in A5 to the power output from the yellow plug located on C6. This is referred to as C6 above. The C6 wire is located by looking at the yellow plug from the front with the attachment clip on the left, and it is the far right pin in the middle. The wire color should be yellow. You will need to strip the wire covers on A5 and C6 and "jump" them, ie connect the two. A friend showed me a trick to prevent damage to the radio for whatever reason by doing the following: Once you have attached a wire to A5, connect the end of it to a fuse similar to the ones in the fuse box. Then attach the wire from C6 to the other side of the fuse. If the radio comes on and sound is heard and the fuse doesn't blow, then do your final wiring. In my case this was not an issue and as JK indicated, you will have sound.

Step2:
In my case, I did not have any factory speed wiring. Specifically, this means there is no pin in the A1 slot of the black connector (I believe it is the top right hole assuming the plastic attachment clip is on the right) from the factory harness. So what I did was to use the factory plug that came with the Crutchfield unit and using a razor blade cut into it to extract one of the pins. I then turned the black factory plug to one side and using a pick, extracted the little yellow pin that holds the wiring pins in place. You will see the top of this against the black plug pretty clearly. It is ridged so be careful and pull it out, you may have to hold the back of the wires coming out of the black plug to get it out, but it will come. I then slid in the newly extracted pin from the back of the plug, making sure the pin clips are facing the same way as the other pin clips in the harness plug (ie look at face of black plug and you will see the clips all lining up a certain way). And then slide back in the yellow holding strip. You now need to connect the back end of the wire from your newly installed pin to the speed signal wire to get the gps to work correctly. Based on other posts, the easiest way to do this is prior to pushing in your radio, feed the wire into the cavity for the radio and down towards the passenger footwell. You should then have a wire dangling by the passenger section. Locate the spoiler controler (see other posts- it should be the small grey box right above the passenger foot section) and attach the wire from the trafficpro to the red/white wire located in the spoiler controller harness and jump it. You should now be all set.

I hope this is helpful to anyone doing this.
