Starter connection help requested
My starter went out on my '96 993 about 3 weeks ago before I went on vacation. I took it out to get the solenoid replaced and finally got around to installing it tonight. I should have documented the cables but I didn't. Apparently I got the cables wrong because when I went to reinstall the ground wire on the battery, the wire started sparking at the post when I tried to connect the ground.
The way I remember it is there are two black cables (grounds?) and one cable that has the red and tan cable. The way it is cabled now is that the two black cables along with the red cable are on the large post and the tan cable is on the smaller post. This obviously isn't right. Can anyone give me details on how the cables should be connected. Is there a diagram somewhere that I can reference? Thanks for your help in advance.
