DIY Strut sand Shocks?

Guys,
I have decided to go with the stock springs but I am installing the Bilstein HD's. I am doing it at a friend's repair shop. Are there instructions and experiences people have had with this. Any DIY sites I can look at prior to my undertaking.

I did the job a month ago without any problem. I did set the standard height as given in the workshop manual, and I drove my car to the OPC for a corner balancing and alignment. As a confirmation to what I read on this site, when the height is correctly set, the corner balancing is within the correct bracket. You will love the HD!

I did mine myself with the help of a friend for the rears as you have to reach way back inside to get the nuts on the top of the shock towers while holding the assembly up. I think you could hold it up there with a little pressure from the floor jack so it is not impossible to do by yourself. Having a buddy makes it fun tho.
I would recommend a compressor and a 1/2" impact and a 3/8" air ratchet. Makes the dis-assembly and assembly of the whole thing a lot easier.
Stock springs? Hmmm....while you are in there it is time to change them as well. You must have thought this out so let us know your logic on this. Let us know.

as CayenneAK said, check out p-car.com. Great diy instructions. I did this this past spring. It took two of us several hours, but not a bad diy. You should at least consider the ROW M030 springs, they will lower the car enough to loose the 4X4 look, and IMO, have a better ride than the stock springs. They are progressive, so the bumps are smoothed out more than with the stock springs. I just can't imagine doing all that work w/o lowering it a little. Just my $.02

I talked to Gert and other people, this is 95% street car (Chicago downtown) and 5% track. The garage entrance at apartment building requires a special angle and slow not to knock off the exhast. Thus I decided on the HD's and the lowering they allow (1/4" to 1/2") is plenty for me right now. I am sure there will be an improvement.
