Me too, I'll make my way down. How about something up the coast?

Is steel wool still being used in the baffles? If so, what happens as they burn out? The steel wool in my generation 2 SCs gradually burnt out and the muffling ability decreased as they wore.

Fabspeed is using a perforated mesh tube that's welded in.

DO a search. I used CC inserts to quiet them down slightly.

Jauder:

You've heard the supercups--both my 993 and the 964 have them, with no baffles. It's not too unlike your bypasses, just a little louder and a little edgier such that it is unmistakably from a normally aspirated car. Your car sounds great too, though. Before I heard it and some of the others that were at Buttonwillow this fall I hadn't realized turbos could be so loud.

993 car, you will be taking longer and longer routes to go home. Why did I wait this long?

Ah, a post from the fine ChuckW. The gent who started it all by taking me around Malibu, baffles in and out, (swapping them in the Sheriff's station driveway no less) to hear those things before I even owned a Porsche. Chuck, see what you've done! You're the best and your help is what makes Rennlist such a wonderful place.

Talking Slap Shot made me do it wifey, you know I want the little...

P-Car to run exrea quiet so not as to disturb the neighbors, set off alarms as well as huge gins on the faces of young children...whan I had a 2 minute ride in Slap Shot's 993 with the latest version of Fabspeed Supercups, I had to have them, and as posted above, I have a set. Oh my god...these pipes are evil. The car finally sounds like a Porsche car, or possibly a cigarette boat.

The construction on the Supercups appears excellent to me. The welds were nicely done and the finish is top quality.

Installation is one (1) hour max...I am too lazy so I asked Jae Lee of Mirage Motorsports in San Diego to install them for me.

Be warned...do not listen to a car with Supercups, unless you want a set. Music Audiophiles will not like these pipes, Porsche engine audiophiles will go nuts for these pipes.

Thanks to Joe Fabiani from Fabspeed. He makes a great product and provides excellent service.

Slap Shot and I wilkl have our cars at Callas Motorsports in Torrance, CA this coming Saturday for a Porsche Owners Club Technical session with a 993 focus. Come by for the session...and if want to hear the Fabspeeds, find us. We'll be hanging out by the donuts!

I can hardly wait to fire up the 993 this AM, why good morning neighbors! Do you like the new "music"...anyway, its music to my ears!

Martin,

Never go near the car that supercups and cat-by pass...

When I go to track, I take the baffles out and with this set-up (supercups without baffles & cat by-pass), driving next to Sebring walls is just, well

So, like I warned, don't go near a car that has this...

Good work Martin. A fine conclusion to yet another slip down the slope. See you Saturday.

Joe Fab was trying to temp me with those cat bypass pipes...I just might take that tumble too. But what about my hearing? Ear plugs...that is the answer, or my new Bose noise cancelling headphones!

huh? what was that you said?
Martin,
Just throw a couple of 10" subs behind you and a 700 watt amp under your seat. That will do a good job of cancelling out the Supercup/cat bypass combo. You'll have the double benefit of "pimping your ride" and getting the "neighbor of the year" award
