eric i'd be real careful about parting the car-down in options. be patient... it will sell.

btw: have you thought of 'consignment' w/ some of the higher end dealers such as www.europeancollectibles.com etc... i just think you could sell it much quicker in warmer climates.

cheers & bol.

You could always try taking off things like the carbon interior parts, selling those separately and then suggest two prices for the car, one with things like the aftermarket wheels vs the stock ones if you still have them (has anyone suggested this yet?). That seems a fairly reasonable approach. Then you can negotiate from two standpoints if you follow me. Some people just can't live with these cars stock and others wouldn't consider anything that had been modified even though the mods may actually be an improvement. Just because my old jelopy 928 has a $3000 stereo and $3000 wheels and tires doesn't mean I'll get dollar for dollar out of it for those parts if I sell. The car can't be worth more than $5K, but I don't really care since its my A to B mobile! Even so, I'd definately sell the wheels and take the stereo out if I ever sold it or that money spent would be out the window (kinda like all my repair costs!!!)

Go national with your ads, have great pictures, have good records, give it 6 months (not counting winter in your part of the world), make sure the car needs nothing...

I saw a lot of cabs for sale while my car was on the market, even 98s in the low 40s. Supply and demand play a role, unfortunately, and the demand for 993 cabs is likely lower than coupes.

You might also consider a broker if you need to move it.

The price does'nt really seem out of line. In the pics, the car shows nicely. I think the rear seat delete hurts the sale, especially for a cab that will not be tracked in it's old age. Couples with young kids will buy p-car cabs just to tool around with the kids on sundays. No back seat, well you get the picture.
Cabs sell like hotcakes in LA. Much better than coupes. Run an ad that hits that market. Only problem may be local competition and the transport issues. If you get your price, help out with the shipping costs. That ought to sweeten the deal. If spring comes first, the buyers will increase.

Good luck.

Paul,

$29900 is way too cheap -- there must be a reason.

For comparison, my buddy sold his 99 996 cab with 49Kmiles, clean with records for 36K. I know its not a 993, but he was asking 42K at first.

agent325 Your buddy was damn lucky to have sold that car at all much less for so much. A guy on the 996 forum is selling a 2000 with 12k on the clock and can't get an offer over $35k.
993s have way better resale value and desireablity.

Do not underestimate the seasonality to selling all sportscars and especially Cabs (with the exception of very warm weather locations that make topless driving too hot in the summer).
I got $5k more for my c2 COUPE in April than i was offered last november. Therefore, if you can keep it/store it, you might be better off to just wait. -- there is no way you will get less in april than you will get now. good luck

Not too low. I don't know how long your ad has been in place, but since mine sold I've had 42 calls. The turning point came when the ad hit Pano in print. I thought everyone was on the net, but the magazine ad brought in the calls. I dropped mine so low (24,900) after 2 fruitless months on autotrader that it was actually the lowest priced 993 advertised in America without a salvage title. I'm still getting calls, but the new owner has no intention of reselling.

1996 C2 Coupe, 134K miles, 24,900 - gone to first test driver

I rather have a 993 or a 996 anyday, well expect for a GT3 or 3..............but the 996 cabs are a dime a dozen
