Thats the part number on my rack. At the beginning of the year you could buy the rack for around $385-$450, it now costs at least twice that.

The tie-rods ends are all rubber, it appears that Porsche goes with a higher durometer rubber for the 964RS & CUP parts but nothing solid.

By the way, if you're looking for the GT2 tie rods, Mind Over Motorsports has them on sale. Great price on camber plates too!

TroyN, I checked out the M.O.M. website and couldn't find the GT2 tie-rods on sale. I only found the RS ones. Incidentally, will the GT2 ones work with stock uprights on a lowered car?

TomF, not sure on the fitment, you should check w/ MOM or maybe Steve Weiner. The GT2 tie rods are on the same page as the other:

FYI,.......

You may use the RS tie-rods with stock uprights, but GT-2 tie-rods must be used with GT-2 uprights. The angles are different.

RS tie-rods use a harder rubber in the coupler. GT-2 tie-rods have no rubber at all.

We stock and use both in various applications.

Steve, is the RS tie-rod upgrade a noticeable improvement? I really would like a feel that is more like my 87 cab was with the turbo tie-rod upgrade. Of course, this is impossible without converting over to a manual steering box, but closer is better.

Hi Tom:

Yessir, IMHO the RS tie-rods are a worthwhile upgrade to increase steering "feel" and responsiveness.

Its not quite the same as an easrly 911 with turbo tie-rods, however its a good bang-for-the-buck. The solid GT-2 tie-rods are better, but require the GT-2 uprights which is not an inexpensive proposition.

The GT-2 components are best suited for 993's that are very low and require bump steer corrections.
